PETRONAS Urania with StrongTech™ technology enhances engine protection, reduces fuel consumption and extends the life of commercial vehicles, so you can achieve more profitable growth. Its incredibly strong molecule chains lock away harmful deposits that maintain fuel efficiency for longer, defend against wear and oxidation and maintain engine power at the highest level right up to the next drain.
Challenging operating conditions, need for more fuel- efficient vehicles, vehicles with increased power and torque and environmental demands will place continued pressure on the Transmission Systems of the commercial vehicles. The PETRONAS Tutela range of specialist transmission fluids has been engineered to withstand pressure, enhance performance and efficiency and extend the life of moving parts.
Choose the right antifreeze and coolant will keep you moving and protect your engine. PETRONAS brake fluids and coolants are designed for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery.

Commercial Vehicles - Frequently asked questions
Operating under intense conditions, the primary role of commercial vehicle oil is lubrication, reducing the friction and wear on moving engine parts, for example between the cylinder walls and piston rings, or the camshaft lobes and followers. Oil also acts as a coolant, absorbing and transferring the huge amounts of heat produced in the engine combustion chambers and piston under-crown area, helping prevent overheating. The oil also acts as a sealant in the space between the piston ring and cylinder wall to prevent combustion pressure (engine power) from escaping. It has detergent qualities too, preventing waste matter resulting from combustion and impurities from sticking to the engine interior, keeping it cleaner. Finally, as a rust inhibitor it neutralises acids produced by combustion gases, preventing rusting and corrosion.
Commerical vehicle engines are constantly evolving, with ever-improving performance and fuel efficiency – but this relies on the quality of your engine oil. Our lubricants have been engineered to respond to the incredible pressures and temperatures truck engines generate, allowing your vehicle to maintain its optimal performance for longer.
You should change your truck's oil and filter at or before the end of oil-change intervals indicated by your vehicle manufacturer. These are based on distance travelled or time. Regular oil changing helps to keep your engine oil in good condition and provide the best protection for all of your engine components.
There are many engine oils on the market for trucks, each with a range of grades eg 5W-20, 5W-30 etc – these enable owners to match the right oil with the specific requirements of their truck’s engine. Your vehicle’s handbook will give you a minimum oil specification, however, our Lube Recommender tool provides a bespoke recommendation for ALL of your truck’s specific lubricant and fluids needs, from the engine and transmission to the differential, cooling system and brakes – ensuring your vehicle keeps performing at its peak.
Commercial vehicle oil can be mineral based or synthetic. Mineral oils are generally suited to older trucks and are usually less expensive than synthetic oils, which are modified to improve their protective and lubricant properties so they can perform in more advanced engines.
